Is it possible to scan MIDI or KAR files?

In this moment no, Similarity needs decoder MIDI to PCM to analyze. But I think there is special tools for midi because it has music notes and comparing is different.

I thought Similarity "listened" to the audio, so it could listen to the MIDI's output

Yes Similarity "listens" audio files, but it not have decoders to convert MIDI to raw PCM format in current time.
