Title: Check for updates connection doesn't close - similarity v.9 build 310

After checking for updates the connection to 90.156.153.32:80 remains open.  Not sure if this is a bug, but it is annoying.

The software as a whole is a pleasure to use, and is something that I've been in dire need of for many years.  Thank you!
