Bugs / 2.3.1 new Global Optimization no OpenCL?
« on: February 17, 2018, 18:36:46 »
Can't get OpenCL working with ne Global Optimization. Is this by design? GPU 0 %, CPU 100 % load
Otherwise it's great! Finally able to scan the whole library, not just parts at a time

General / Re: looking for "cover" songs
« on: February 04, 2014, 23:39:00 »
the problem here will be the similarity to other tracks,

like a rolling stone by the stones shouldn't be that different to the dylan version, you'll probably get like 60 % similarity or something,
but if you have those tracks also on live albums and best of cds those will probably be around 80 - 90 % similarity
you'd have to separate all those false-positives

so i guess "no"

General / Re: Clipping Measurement
« on: February 04, 2014, 23:35:31 »
From the Similarity FAQ:

Clipping
This parameter reflects the distortion of the amplitude, when a source input signal gets beyond the limits of the allowable range of an output signal. This parameter is crucial. High values of this field most likely tell about wrong remastering or conversion, or low-quality source music file recording. Once again: pay a close attention to this parameter, because many music files downloaded from Internet have problems with it.
The field is included into the rating calculation. The default worst value (marked with red color) is more or equal to 100.

basically this means the song was pushed too loud so that it might scratch when being played. i don't think this could damage your hardware. if those songs sound fine for you theres no need to worry.

Wishlist / ID3v2.4
« on: November 12, 2013, 14:22:53 »
I'd really like to see support for ID3v2.4 Tags.

They have some benefits over 2.3 that I need. I know for most people this is probably not relevant,
but for those who actually buy software to organize their music, this is a relevant point.

ID3v2.4 is 13 years old, time to support it everywhere! even my car radio does

News / Re: Version 1.9.0 released
« on: November 12, 2013, 14:19:24 »
After upgrading from 1.9.0 beta i receive many of those errormessages when i press "find duplicates"
(see image attached)

i use the 64-bit version. the similarity executable was called Similarity64.exe before, now it's just Similarity.exe even for the 64-bit version.
My link in taskbar still pointed to the (after upgrade still present) Similarity64.exe which called the newer Decoder.exe, hence the errormessage.

It is fixed now, just wanted to post if someone ran into the same problem
