Which would be better in this situation:

Work size= 64
CPU= 600ms
GPU= 74ms

Work size= 512
CPU= 700ms
GPU= 150ms

The 512 GPU is still much faster than CPU. So would 512 be faster than 64 in this case?

I think for general listening, 70% and above is good. 100% is not realistic since many publishers release music that's badly clipping (so it sounds over-bassed and louder).

If you have a good audio system, and by that I mean high-end speakers and amplifier, or high-end headphones, then you'll hear a difference between 50% and 100%. But if you listen mostly in your car, or with basic earbuds, or computer speakers, you won't hear much of a difference.

So just listen to the song and decide whether it's acceptable quality to YOUR ears

I don't want to scan images in my audio folders, because every single album and song has an image for the cover (in three different sizes).

Can I turn off image scanning when I just want audio? It slows down the whole process

Wishlist / Questions about the OpenCL options

When running the benchmark, it always says 1 cpu core. I've got a 6 core CPU, so can Similarity use all 6 cores?

I have a Nvidia GeForce 660, and when I am benchmarking the different work group sizes for the GPU, I get inconsistent results. I select 64 and get 74ms, then I select 128 and get 94ms, but when I select 64 again I get 90+ms. It changes when I go back and forth between the workgroup sizes.

What is better- workgroup size of 64 at 74ms, or a workgroup size of 256 at 150ms? Does that mean it's processing 3x more data and only 2x slower? (The CPU always shows 600ms)

I think it would be more accurate if there was a speed indicator during the analysis (like the number of files processed per second). That would be a better benchmark, since I can try different settings and run the analysis to compare speeds.
