Wishlist / Re: Player that continues, to compare
« on: February 14, 2015, 12:17:26 »
Let me add an idea to this one :
the ability to compare two songs in your headphones : on song (converted to mono) at left, the other (converted too) at right.
Indeed, when songs have different duration without being cut at the end (no obvious problem), it's difficult to compare them.

Thanks !

Bugs / Progression and time remaining
« on: February 13, 2015, 10:24:31 »
Dear Developers,

when scanning a big directory with many sub-folders, the total number of files detected (at the bottom right corner) increases slowly, making the progression bar and the estimated time remaining to be wrong until all files are detected.

It would be great to scan the real number of files before starting, and therefore to show a more plausible Time remaining and progression bar.

Thanks

Wishlist / Auto-mark : folder priorities
« on: February 12, 2015, 20:38:02 »
Dear Developers,

on the second tab of the "automatically mark files" window ("folders"), the lines can be moved up/down but it's very long. It would be great :

- to be able to select multiple lines
- to be able to move selected lines straight to the top or bottom (rather than line by line)

Thanks !

Wishlist / Move to a folder, and keep original folder structure
« on: February 12, 2015, 20:31:13 »
Dear Developers,

one thing great would be that the move function doesn't just move the file to the chosen directory, but also its path.

For example, instead of moving
D:\music\classical\beethoven\symphony10.mp3
to
E:\SimilarityMoved\
It could be moved to
E:\SimilarityMoved\music\classical\beethoven\

I hope that I'm clear and that it will be implemented soon !

All the best

Wishlist / Re: Browse... and select
« on: February 08, 2015, 17:44:46 »
Hum, I just had the idea to "browse" a file which doesn't work with Similarity, but with the software I mentioned before (Everything Search)... and it does the same (same symptoms : fail at first try but ok then) !
So the problem might come from my computer, not from Similarity.
Sorry for bothering you !

Thanks for answering
I'm currently using Windows 8.1
As mentioned in my edit, it sometimes works.
I just tried it once again and notice that if I try more than once, it can work for a file which didn't. Sometimes it works at the first try.
I tried on files not hidden and not read-only either.

Bugs / Can't really view the progression
« on: February 08, 2015, 15:21:26 »
Dear developer,

as shown in attached file, the current operation progression can't be seen when there are too many files processed (the numbers are trunk). As there is free space left of this indications, it would be great to enlarge those spaces.

I hope I'm clear !

Thanks

Laurent
PS : I hesitated in posting it in wish list or bugs

Wishlist / Browse... and select
« on: February 08, 2015, 15:14:47 »
Dear developers,

I know a software (Everything Search by David Carpenter, very very useful) which has a function similar to the right click on a file in Similarity and "browse".

In Similarity, it only opens the directory which contains the file (among possibly many other files). The suggestion is to do as Everything Search does : when you want to "browse" a file that has been found, it not only opens the directory but selects the file itself. This is a good way not to look for it in the directory.

I hope that I'm clear !

Thanks

Laurent
[Edit :] in fact, that might be a bug. For some files it works as suggested ! For others, it behaves like I explained above. Strange !

Wishlist / Player that continues, to compare
« on: February 07, 2015, 16:57:14 »
Dear developer,
congrats for this fabulous software!
I looked in it and in the forum but didn't find my suggestion so I dare to write it.
You've added a player which is very useful. Thank you.
One thing great would be the ability (let's say a right click option) that the song continues when I double click on a duplicate (or not a duplicate !) of the song I'm already listening to. This would be more convenient than approximatively moving the cursor to find where it was previously playing. More over, it would give a perceptive confirmation of the results (or a way to choose between similar quality results).
For sure, this functionality would synchronize files in which the music doesn't start at the same moment (for example because of blanks).
All the best,
renArD
